Ah, Friday. Glad to see you again. It's a windy gray day out today. I don't know if you by chance heard about our stormy weather here yesterday. For a while the girl and the dog and I had to pile in the bathtub with our pillows and wait it out. It's a yearly occurance around here. Dealing with the literal whirlwinds of weather.
Of course Audrey ended up being perfectly content to lounge in the tub playing on my fancy phone, but I was anxious to get out of the tub and have the weather move on because I had stuff to do. I always have stuff to do. One thing I have to do is share these beeee---uuu--tiful new mugs with you. I've found some nice over-sized mugs that paint up so beautifully. I'm going to switch my designs over to this new mug size, and the first switched mug is Lost in the Pages.I think she came out pretty adorable if I say so myself :) so now I need to paint up some new examples of my other designs and get them listed. See, always something new to get done!
In the middle of all my running around and painting anything that will stand still, these pretty ladies returned home from their merry jaunt to California:
Here they are! It's Minnie, Nora and Sadie of Prims Magazine fame :) They seem pretty proud of themselves for adventuring all the way out to the west coast. Lucky girls, I've only ever been as far west as Arizona :)

Lucky girls, I've only ever been as far west as Arizona :)Goodness. I am ready for the whirlwind of 'things to get done' to settle down. I know I do it to myself though. I need to make a conscious effort to reign myself. I admit, I'm getting tired. I know that the next few months will bring a lot of changes, especially since my little gal will be headed off to full time school. I don't know what it is about me that I think I need to take over the world with folk art right here, right now, right this very minute.
My friend Laura had a post recently about how no one has ever done great things without first encountering a period of waiting. Life doesn't always happen on your time and schedule, there's a bigger plan going on. And while I know that intellectually, it's sometimes a hard thing for me to put into practice :)
So as hard as it is for me not to sign up for every show, volunteer for every project, and push myself to my limit until I'm utterly cranky and uninspired, I am going to try (try!) to sit back and relax for a bit. Perhaps I'm coming to that time every artist has where they need to put the paint brush down and just listen to what inspiration is trying to tell me.
Anyhow, I'm going to give it my best shot :)
