The moment I saw her, I was entranced. Sure, some of my friends didn't know what I saw in her. Some were completely creeped out by her black lace ensemble and odd little face. You can tell this girl's been around the block and lived to tell the tale. And that's what I find so endlessly fascinating about her!My boudoir doll. I got her at a craft show a few weeks ago. I'd never seen anything like her before, but she seems to be all original and from the 1920s or 1930s. Do any of you know much about these types of dolls? They have a fascinating and strange history.
And hey, we can't be all snowflakes and glitter this holiday season ;) gotta throw a creepy doll in every once in a while ;)

I, for one, love the dark and mysterious lady.... perhaps she had one too many bourbons at the near-by speakeasy.... yes, perhaps she did. I think also she just may have been jilted by her lover.... she has many stories to tell. I am sure.

Oh she is lovely Heather and I can see why you just had to have her!
Although I know my aunt had a few dolls like her I never did hear any stories about them. She seems to almost be fashioned after ladies like Mae West, who was blond and wore dark fancy dresses and big hats. Whoever she is she is gorgeous!

I definitely see the charm, but I probably wouldn't want to sleep in the same house with her. Just sayin'. ;-)~

Very cool. Love your header!
Delightfully spooky and dark - she kind of has an air of mystery about her. I envision her in a dark speakeasy, surrounded by pillows of cigarette smoke and boozy piano playing. My...LOL She's great, Heather! Theresa
