Well, look at that! It's Tuesday again! And of course that means it's 'Tasha Tuesday' :) I dont know about you, but I had a good Tasha week this week. I got a message from a sweet friend, Holly of Holly Rocks, saying she was working an estate sale full of Tasha Tudor books! You know I scurried right over and found....
How exciting is this? And I came on half price day. They had several more Tasha books, but for my budget I only bought the volumes I didn't already own. Except for "Private World of Tasha Tudor." I bought an extra one of those because a) I love that book and b) my copy doesnt have the paper cover, it was ripped and that's why I bought it marked down in the first place ;)I am super-thrilled to get Amy's Goose and Carrie's Gift. I had never heard of these books. They're little stories written by Tasha's daughter Efner and illustrated by Tasha. They're really sweet little stories, very much a narrative that older children would enjoy (not just simple one-liners.) They all seem to be first editions bought when the books first came out, because the woman who owned them wrote her name and the date she received them on the inside cover.
It makes my heart twinge a little to know that there was someone local who loved Tasha so much who is now gone. I wonder how she came to love Tasha---because she certainly did. Her collection was impressive. She owned every biography/personal book about Tasha as they were published and each volume was in impeccable shape. Did she read the books to her children? Did she just admire the lifestyle? What spoke to her about Tasha? I will never know, but I'm hoping that, where ever she is, she's pleased that these books ended up in my possession.

Have you found any treasures this week? Or have you found a particularly wonderful Tasha treasure lately? I'd love to hear about it.... :)
Happy Tasha Tuesday!~

What a nice collection.
I have that Bedtime Book, it was given to me by my Grandmother who passed away when I was very young. She wrote an inscription in it to me. It's one of my favorite treasures:)
I have quite a few of her books, but bought them all new. I can and do get lost in them.
It's nice to know that these books went to such a loving home! I'm sure their previous owner would be happy to know it too. I'm so glad I thought of you! But then again, how could I not? It was pretty much an immediate thing ;-)
Oh what FABULOUS Tasha treasures! So lucky! It is interesting to wonder about the story behind the person who owned these books. Obviously, she had a romantic and poetic soul. :) By the way, happy first day of autumn to you! Theresa

What memories you have brought back for me today! My mom Read me Amy's Goose when I was around 9 and I was so moved by it. I remember all of her books that I either read or was read in childhood, and now am feeling a little sentimental. I am very glad you found them. Thanks for the memories!
Lucky you! That Holly is top notch people, for sure.
Ha! That's awesome! That would be like me stumbling upon an estate sale of all Anthropologie or Goonies, hahahahaha. ;)
Kudos to you on such a great find! My latest acquisition from the Tudor world is the miniature music stand made by Seth. Of course, I just went to their website and couldn't resist it.
Great to be back with you and Tasha, Heather! Your collection makes me sigh:) Aren't book finds the sweetest thing!? And bless Holly's BIG heart! You've got some keeper friends!

Hi Heather,
Cool collection of books....very nice!
The other day I added a post on my facebook to show my little corner on my studio. In that wall I have the painting you did of me as an angel. I do not know if you had a chance to see it.
Hugs,
Flor
What a wonderful find! I didn't know till now that you're a Tasha fan. "Corgiville Fair" is my favorite children's book, and has been since I was a child! Great to meet another fan!
I had the pleasure of meeting Tasha about 10 years ago when she did a local book signing, right about when "Corgiville Kidnapping" came out. She was such a tiny little lady, and she had brought a couple of her corgis with her. Very nice woman!
