I literally came up with the title for this painting about 5 minutes ago. Finally. I've been staring at her trying to come up with something for days now. Sometimes the titles come so easily, other times....its hard to know what is the right thing to call a little piece of art, by which it will be called forever and ever...
Obviously, I skipped spring and landed splat into the heat of summer. August. I love those big brown-hearted sun flowers, don't you? Sun flowers seem like the perfect flowers for angels. Plain and simple, but what a statement they make!.
On the home front, we finally got a clear dry day after a solid weekend of raining. I don't know that it ever stopped. It was a constant, uninspired drizzle the entire two days. Because of that I'm about 400 pages in to Sacajawea ;) Only about 900 more to go ;) But truly, it is an amazing story.I'm working on a few little things to display at the Water Street Gallery next month, and I also am planning to make some little paintings just for mother's day. They'll be little and sweet. Maybe you'll want one, or know someone who needs one? ;)
I'll be back with more paintings to share....

She's so pretty. I like the old fashion flowers on the sides of your blog, too. Very pretty. :)Bea
just had to tell you congratulations on your article in Prim magazine! I really enjoyed it :)
I love the muted purple/lavender hues! Perfect compliment to the sunflowers and background. Good luck with getting yet another show ready!
Heather, I think this is a keeper!! I'm such a sunflower fan and have them in my garden. They really are a happy flower. Your colors are amazing here! Spring is inspiring you mightily:) Isn't it amazing how we can draw a blank and then inspiration strikes!? I love when that happens!
Love the warm colors-she's very pretty...Great name too.
I think we skipped over Spring here as well. My favorite seasons, Fall and Spring sure don't last long enough ;)
Very sweet Heather, love the sunflowers.
WOW - Heather!!! This painting is phenomenal. She IS an angel, and I love the flowers she's holding. So very pretty - you did a wonderful job. :) Theresa
She is awesome and I love the title. :) I have hard time naming my paintings as well, so they often go without name. :) Or I call them by the color. :)
She is so pretty. August suits her just fine great job.
She's so pretty! I like the name too!
This painting is gorgeous! I love all of the colors you used. Can't wait to see your Mother's Day paintings! :) ~Lauren
The rain sure is a drag but sunflowers sure do make everything better!
