Last night I finally decided to crack open the old sketch book and start sketching. I didn't even really have a plan....I was just glad the girl was finally asleep and the house was quiet and calm. And out of this calm came.....bees?

I think I might try this sketch in a painting. I've got a couple of boards all collaged and ready for inspiration to hit. But that's been the hitch in the plan--- finding the inspiration. I know it's just because my mind is racing with all the house stuff. Its been a crazy and emotional process. Mostly because I am a worrier and I like clear definition between 'point A' and 'point B.' Learning to trust that things will work out as they should without me forcing them to, has been a big learning process for me. I just hope and pray so hard that all happens as it should. And I appreciate all your support and suggestions!
We did finally have a showing at the house--- the realtor called and gave me 30 minutes to straighten up and get a girl and dog whisked away. That was an afternoon when I was very grateful I'd been cleaning like a maniac ;) Nothing came of that showing though, which was disappointing, but I was glad just to have the chance to have someone come look. It's hard to keep cleaning and straightening for people who never show up ;)

I like to call it "the Anthropologie Dream House." You know me, I have to name everything! Yes, its the one I've been in love with for a while....Sigh. It's hard to be in love ;)
Til then....let's paint bees and strange old timey girls and dream of a spring when all is settled and lovely....

I love these sketches! A painting is definitely calling from them. I hope you get your dream house....I'm sure it will all work out in the end. Spring brings many treats and presents!: )
That sketch is WONDERFUL! I think you should finish it. A watercolor, perhaps? The gentleness of the piece calls for that, I think. :) My fingers are crossed that you sell your home and get that dream house! Theresa
The sketch is lovely, it would definately make a lovely painting.
I do hope you get all your wishes come true and move to the house you dream of, I have my fingers crossed for you x
I loe this. Something is so ramantic about bee keeping. Why is that? You have such a gift. Fuzzy, buzzy, busy girl.
I really like that the bee is giant size!
Did you do those just for me...my last name has "bee" in it???
I am rather fond of her :)
House selling, buying...ugh. But just remember to breathe in and out and imagine what sparkles of creativity will emerge once you get into a new home!
Great sketches!
What wonderful sketches....Like you, I'm a little skittish (and a lot allergic) around bees, but I do love to draw and paint them, and always find them making their way into my springtime work....The Blessed Bee and such. :)
Good luck with the real estate stuff, and I hope you get your dream house! :)
Blessings,
~ Carolee
Heather! Good luck with your house selling and buying!
Love the new sketch. Yes, I think the bees were subliminal messages to yourself. You miss Spring. So do we. :O)
It is hard to be in love! Fingers crossed for you all to get your dream home- you guys are so deserving. Love the sketches, I would like to see those painted too. :)
I love the bees and bee hive theme. Very fresh and spring. They would make a beautiful painting.
i adore the sketch because i really enjoy bee themed art. i'm going to have to put this on bee haunting.
and..
an anthropolgie house? sigh....i want to see :)
Aw, good luck with the sale of yours/and purchase of your dream home.
It is very emotional-even afterwards.I'm about 8 months into this move and it's a roller coaster of emotion everyday.Enjoying the new home, missing old one and all that went with it...hopefully things will work out for you in the best way.
I love bees and all that they do for us-but I would never hold one either! Love the drawings!
Take care :)
Heather, It's always so fun to pop in and see what you're up too! Always highly creative! I love your girl with bees. I have a fondness for bees also and stenciled some on one wall of my bathroom not long ago. They turned out so well and I wish I'd put them everywhere!
Praying about all your house stuff. Wonderful things in store for you!
Love this!
Love your drawings. Mika (www.mikascrap.typepad.com)

This sketch has a little "Alice in Wodderland" quality to it. She's adorable. I love bee hives in the garden, all the types of flowers that attract bees, beeswax candles and of course honey but I'm like you, scared of bees. Wish I was braver because the idea of having your own bess and making your own honey has a definite appeal.
