To get this celebration of new ventures started off right, I am offering a giveaway! One lucky winner will receive an 8x10" print of the painting "Orchard Sisters" by leaving a comment on this post. All of these prints are done on heavy watercolor paper, which seems to be my favorite print medium. It prints beautifully and has the look of a real peice of art-- not just a copy. I hope you like it as much as I do!Orchard Sisters

And while you're contemplating a comment, I'd appreciate it if you took a minute to help me out--- I'm always curious to know what 'type' of painting of mine people like best. The goth girls? Inspiration angels? The flappers? The family and love themed paintings? Let me know! And perhaps there's a print in it for ya ;)
Thanks everyone! And thanks for everyone who replied in support of the last post. Stay original and stay true to yourself!
PS: Giveaway ends Friday!!~

Hi Heather, good luck with your prints although i'm sure you won't need it. I love your angels or mother and child (as you know) so would love to be included in the giveaway for 'Orchard Sisters' or any of your prints lol x
I like em all...but can be fond of flappers =) I think I just love their hair cuts...makes me want to go cut mine right now!
I love them all. I like the angels and the flappers are so alive. I like the dark goth and of course the sweet family paintings. I have one and am in love with it.

Whoohoo I hope I win! I love everything you do but I would say what speaks to me is the more traditional kind of girls. The colonial Jane Austeny kind. Then again I LOVE some of the flapper girls too. My fav is the one with the black bird on the girls shoulder. It is dark and mysterious, but then I LOVE Blossom too. OK- I was no help. You are just good at everything hun :)
Heather, I couldn't possibly choose between any of your art because I like it all! I also like to use watercolour paper for prints, it's even better than the Somerset enhanced IMO.

Hi, Heather!
If I have to pick, I most adore the goth girls and the love paintings, but I simply love all of your work! You are such a wonderful artist! It will be nice to finally met you in a few weeks!
~Katie
Hi Heather. I'm not sure I can choose! Love them all. I really like the flappers, followed by goth girls, then inspiration angels. :)
I love your stuff! ***crosses fingers***
Hi Heather,
Orchard Sisters is so pretty and springy! *crosses fingers* :)
My favorite type of your paintings are the prairie-themed paintings, as well as your other paintings that show a bit of nature in the background behind the subject.
I find them the most captivating.
Stephanie
Your prints look awesome! I bet the watercolor paper looks great with the mixed media image. I have canvas paper on my list of things to try. I always love your prairie girls and angels.
Congrats on your prints Heather! They look great!
Jennifer
Hi!! I love all your paintings, especially the ones about family. The "Ochard Sisters" are adorable. I love the painting so much!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful art with us
Giovanna
Which type of your paintings do I like the best? Well I scrolled through several months of your previous posts to refresh my memory and honestly I can't say I prefer one type over another. Big help I am.
I just like your style. Angel or goth girl - it all works for me.
Wow! I wish I could make that kind of Print instead of standing by my printing press for hours just to make one monotype! I must be mad.
I love your Gothy Girls, but I think that is because I am a single person-just me and my cats without a family or husband and all that but, I know so many people love your pieces with sisters and children so I can't say what you should do. I think of mix of what you love is always right!

You know I can't resist a fun giveaway! I think my favorites would be flappers, but I also love the idea of storybook characters as well...how about Little Women? Or some Oklahoma/cowgirl/prairie women -- Annie Oakley types, Laura Ingalls Wilder -- those sorts?
I like them all, of course-but I think I always love angels best:)
Take care-
Andrea
I'm so glad you're offering prints now! That should really open up your market to people like me who can't afford originals, lol.
To answer your question, I really love the darker stuff you do. And the angels. But especially the goth-ish work, I guess that's the pissed off teenager still living within me.
such a beautiful give-away, heather! all of your artwork is beautiful, and would be wonderful as prints!
:)
Heather! I am so excited that you are offering prints!! My favorite paintings are your inspiration angels, but I do love anything that you do!
BLessings,
Michelle
What a kind offer, thank you. Your prints look great! I think my fave style are the girls who look like they are thinking a lot... most are inspiration angels, some are not (Halloween Hill, maybe?) Sorry I can't remember the names!
I love all your work. You only need to satisfy yourself, then it will be beautiful!
Hi Heather! Glad I popped in today - how sweet & generous of you to do a giveaway :>
All of your work is just wonderful so hard to pin down any faves....however, I think I tend to lean toward your angel-themed pieces.
Hi, Heather! I love the fact that you have printed Blossom. I will be in touch to order that print. All of your work is beautiful. My favorite pieces, though, are the pieces like Blossom and the Orchard Sisters with the people and the outdoor nature scenes behind them. I would love to be included in the giveaway for the Orchard Sisters print!
Tracy
wow you are extremely gifted and talented
I love your angel an love theme paintings! :)
Hi Heather,
I love the family oriented paintings that you do. I also love the print "Blossom" she is beautiful.
I Hope I win!
Adri
Hi Heather!
Your prints are beautiful! I love all of your subject matter, but lately I've been really drawm to mothers and children.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win! :)
Take care,
Jennifer
Love the Orchard Sisters----but I think that the flappers are amazing also....kinda like the goth girls too----Oh, I don't know---too hard to decide!!
Would love to win a print, though!
i love the way the prints turned out. i wish you all the luck in the world with them. i happen to really like your angels best. but i also happen to be partical to the sisters theme since i do have one of my own as well as hundreds of sorority sisters.
I love all of your pieces and my 15 year old daughter, Savannah Rose looks over my shoulder often and "ooo's" and "awe's" at your postings here. She and I were discussing how we enjoyed the Pride and Prejudice Bennett girls you created. Art and books have been wonderful for us both in our creative endeavors. As always thanks for sharing them. You brighten our day.
I like the family pictures, but that could be because I am in a mellow family mood with our new grandson in the world!
I've been trying out different papers for prints of my work over the past few weeks but i'm still not happy yet! I'll get there in time i'm sure but for now, i'll have to wait!
Yours look lovely and i'm sure will sell out very fast :)
As for favourite styles of yours, I guess I like them all.
I like that you don't just do one type and that you can still tell they are done by you, no matter what style! (hope that makes sense)
My 2 all time favourites of yours are the 'cute as a cupcake' and the 'determined to become a pirate' I absolutely adore those 2 with a passion!
Micki x
I couldn't choose, they are all lovely. Great that you are selling prints, I'm sure you'll find your profit going way up as more people can afford prints than the originals. I think Black Apple makes the most on all those prints she sells. And they are cheap to ship, too. Just a little business minded comment, sorry. lol
((I have a question - do you print them on your printer at home or do you take them somewhere to be done?? I had an experiment with a painting of my own on some high quality paper on my own printer and found the colors very muted no matter what I tried. Just a question that's been bugging me for a long time now and your prints look so great I hoped for some advice from a fellow artist.))
I think you already know I love your print/paintings. My favorite is still your skating ones, like the original pencil of Sasha. But I also like the folk stuff you have got right now, it is more "you" I think, shows off the true Okie in you. I need to save money to get one of those special ones I asked you about.
Hi Heather,
Such a beautiful giveaway, the facial expression of the younger sister is so sincere and realistic. My favourite peices of yours are the family scenes with members either all together or in pairs, i feel it suits your style so well to portray such intense emotional bonds that famlies have, you seem to capture it so well in their eyes,
Have a great day heather
Love Gem

Oh gosh Heather, everytime you post a pic of one it is my favorite. That would be a hard choice to make as I love all of them. Thanks
I agree that your paintings are all fantastic but oh I do love the ANGELS!
heck yes! Sign me up!
How cool!
All of your art is gorgeous and inspirational. I haven't seen a single girl that I don't absolutely love! My eye is drawn to more of the romantic and victorian styled girls. Such as Celeste and Jane Bennet. I am always a sucker for the gothier styles.
Keep up the great art!
I like them all but am particularly drawn to the more goth stuff. And the Austen girls, of course.
Well, you know your prairie girls are my most FAVORITE favorites, but I just love them all. Some days I'm in a haunted, ghostie-gothy mood (you do "sweet gothic" so well) and sometimes I feel flowery and romantic. LOL~ I'm not much help, am I? Okay, I like the girls with stories the best. :)
Oh my goodness!!!! This is a fantastic giveaway!! I've always been a huge fan of your work as you know!! And, I can't pic the best that I like!!!!! I like them all.. I do like the folky stuff and the flappers!!! But, really I couldn't decide just one type!!!
Hope you enjoy your day!
oh me for sure!! :)
Hi Heather, I particularly like your angels and also the 1920s inspired ones. You paint such wonderful characters.
Good that you are doing prints. I'd love to win.
Barb
I was introduced to your art through Lori Brighton.... she has shown it off to everyone she knows. Your art is unique, and it pulls my attention into all your detail. Although I enjoy all of your work, I favor the "Young Prairie Couple". I will continue to follow your work and hope to be an owner of it some day soon. :) Amy
Hi Heather I really love all your paintings but if I had to chose a favourite it would be the goth girls. Good luck with your prints selling, you wont have a problem. Take care Belinda
